Jules P. Kaufman is Chief Legal Officer and Secretary of the Board of Directors of Coty Inc. He is responsible for overseeing Coty’s legal affairs worldwide, including, among other things, acquisitions and divestitures, corporate governance, compliance, intellectual property, licensing and regulatory matters.
Jules has over 30 years of comprehensive legal experience. Since joining Coty in 2008, he has helped guide the company through its transition to a publicly listed company and multiple acquisitions, including most recently, the transformational merger with Procter & Gamble’s Specialty Beauty Business.
Prior to Coty, Jules was Vice President and Division General Counsel for Colgate-Palmolive Company’s Europe/South Pacific division, based in Paris and Geneva. Leading up to that, he held positions of increasing responsibility with the Colgate legal function, focusing on securities law, corporate governance and executive compensation as well as overseeing M&A and finance transactions in Europe, Latin America, Asia, Middle East and Africa. Jules began his career as a corporate lawyer in New York City.
Jules received a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University. He is based in London.
